The Transfer Credit Equivalency Guide helps you explore how coursework from another institution may transfer to Purdue University. It shows real-time information from Purdue’s internal credit evaluation system but does not replace the official review.

Purdue Regional Campus Coursework

Students from Purdue Northwest or Purdue Fort Wayne should not use this guide. Coursework from Purdue regional campuses is Purdue-system credit and automatically becomes part of your Purdue record — no transfer or transcript required.

1. Course equivalencies are subject to review and may change at any time. Plan on reviewing your transfer credit information each semester.
2. If a course or institution is not listed, you may request an evaluation using the Inquiry Log and Syllabi Submission tool .
3. Articulations older than 10 years have been removed; some may be reinstated, while others require a syllabus for departmental review.

Search more efficiently using the following tips:

1. For courses from U.S. territories, select “US” in the Location field.
2. Some fields include an “ALL” option. Use this to review a broader list of results.
3. The guide filters results as you go. If you change an early selection, you’ll need to re-enter later fields.
4. Use the Clear Row button to clear all selections within a row.
5. After each selection, the Copy Down button lets you copy selections into the next field.

Generate a report by Transfer School Course or Purdue Course that groups transfer credit information by institution and course to help you review multiple results together.

Results Notes

1. Undistributed courses are marked with XUND in the course number. These are used at the discretion of your department/academic advisor and may or may not be used in your major, in the university core curriculum, or as electives.
2. Unevaluated courses are marked with XXXX in the course number. These are used at the discretion of your department/academic advisor and may or may not be used in your major, in the university core curriculum, or as electives. These courses are eligible for evaluation by submitting a syllabus.
3. When you see more than one result for a specific course, it usually means the equivalency has changed. Consult with your advisor or email transfercredit@purdue.edu.
4. When you see that a course has both equivalent credit and extra "undistributed credit," it means there are more hours being transferred than the Purdue's course.
5. Credit transferred in from quarter-based institutions is multiplied by 0.75.
6. If two or more courses are required to be equivalent to a Purdue course, they are listed in the Course Grouping section underneath the list of results.
7. If there are two versions of a Purdue course, you will need to investigate both.
8. Credit is only awarded for courses taken at regionally accredited institutions. Courses cannot be older than 10 years or developmental or remedial.
9. Please refer to the Indiana Core Transfer Library for an up-to-date list of courses that are pre-approved for transfer between all Indiana public college and university campuses and five independent colleges and universities (assuming adequate grades are earned).

1. When you are admitted to Purdue as a transfer student, you will receive an official credit evaluation. If you are an applicant you may request to have a course evaluated by contacting transfercredit@purdue.edu.

3. Transfer credit is posted only from official college transcripts which the student must order from the transfer institution. Be sure your transcript is complete before sending.
